In order to have consistency with other (and previous) definitions I propose to change definition of Information Asset" to what it has been earlier (in similar documents):
Information Asset - information, data and tools required for the processing thereof, which can either belong to the company or be stored under bailment (e.g. personal data).
This tools part is rather significant as all measures taken around protection of information is tightly related with the tools (eg. userrights). Also another term (Owner of the Information Asset) - which very much related to it even more deals with this tools part. Leaving definition only to "pure data" makes things too philosophical and removes connection to reality where data does not exist by itself but always under management of some tools.
Definition what is currently in draft - "A collection of information, either tangible or intangible, that is worth protecting" does not have it."
