Meet our team

More than 250 staff members from 27 EU countries and from different backgrounds work together at the EBA to ensure the stability of the EU financial sector.

“It’s caring for your work-life balance” — Rosy-Mathilde, France

I've been seconded to the EBA from the French competent authority, the Banque de France. I work for the legal unit where I'm in charge of institutional issues and supervisory convergence.

Compared to traditional competent authorities with strong historical backgrounds, the EBA is a quite young and friendly organisation.

You are directly involved with management on a one-to-one basis. If you have a question, you can just call the colleague in charge. The working processes are swift and direct.

The working environment is diverse and allows you to work on innovative subjects: digital innovation, AI or data protection, for instance. Issues that speak to young people from the get-go.

I would recommend working at the EBA because you quickly gain a lot of experience, exposure and develop a strong network. Everyone is an expert in their field, and everyone is accountable for the quality of their work.

The mission, tasks and objective can be challenging with specific mandates set by the European Commission. But the agency cares a lot about its staff well-being and work-life balance. The EBA is an extremely positive working environment providing plenty of opportunities for staff development and wellbeing, such as sports and social clubs.

The EBA invests in its staff!

“It’s more than a regular job” — Dragan, Slovenia

I'm in the stress testing team, where we look at what would happen to banks if there were to be a downturn. I like the job as we're very objective. Our analysis is independent and we  want to do it in the best possible way. And with the best possible result.

But what really drives me is the people. It’s a friendly environment. You like to come to work because you know you want to see your colleagues.

I was a semi-pro basketball player, so teamwork is the most important aspect for me, especially since the agency is not that big. We are all ready to help, solidarity and trust are true at the EBA.

There is a flat structure, you communicate directly with the Chairperson or the Executive Director, both in meetings or when you meet in the cafeteria. We’re all on first name basis and this doesn't happen often in other jobs or companies.

The EBA is big on  training, learning and career development. I'm currently doing a PhD in climate economics, and I'm fully supported by the EBA. That's another great benefit.

“The EBA? I love it” — Aisling, Ireland

I'm a trainee in the HR unit, working mainly in the learning and development area. I help with the organisation of trainings and the internship programs for students aged 14-19 years old.

What’s it like working at the EBA? I love it! One of the best things about joining the EBA has been meeting people from different backgrounds and making friends.

My colleagues are very friendly and the working environment is really enjoyable. I am excited to come to the office and interact with people.

There are so many people here from all parts of Europe. I learn a lot about other cultures and traditions.

It’s stimulating to hear about all these different experiences from colleagues and being able to practice different languages.

Trainees are always followed by mentor. We can discuss any challenges we're facing and get career advice from them. I have learnt a lot on the HR work and the EU public service in general.

It’s personally fulfilling to work in an organisation where you're working for the public service and to improve the quality of lives of European citizens.
