v5017_a
- Question
-
Should the validation rule v5017_a be deactivated?
- Background on the question
-
The validation rule v5017_a checks whether the length of the code used in column 0080 of C17.02 corresponds to a length of 20 characters. This is the length of a LEI code.
According to the Annex II (INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPORTING ON OWN FUNDS AND OWN FUNDS REQUIREMENTS), chapter 4.2.3.2, the description of field CODE column 0180 of C 17.02 references to C 06.02 column 0021. Also according to the Annex II chapter 2.5, the field CODE column 0021 C 06.02 can be specified with a LEI code or a national code. The validation rule for C 17.02 refers only to a LEI code of the legal entity in case of C 17.02. In some cases a LEI code is not available and according to column 0021 C 06.02 the possibility of applying a national code is being used. National codes may have a different character length compared to an LEI code.
