Value for column c040 of template C 101.00 in case of counterparties with multiple ratings
- Question
-
How shall cells in column c040 in template C 101.00 be filled out in case of counterparties with multiple ratings?
- Background on the question
-
The DPM and the taxonomy for the benchmarking exercise – version v2.6 – do not allow column c040 (rating) to be left blank, but require a value. This is not in line with Q&A 2017_3215 (consistent with the ITS on Benchmarking) where the column can be left blank in case a counterparty has multiple ratings (e.g. country transfer risks).

- Final answer
-
In version 2.6 of the DPM, column 040 of template C 101.00 of Annex III to the Draft ITS on benchmarking cannot be left blank for technical reasons.
Therefore, by deviation from Q&A 2017_3215, the following shall apply for the benchmarking exercise 2018 (applicable for the reference date end-2017 data): If a counterparty has been assigned multiple rating grades in accordance with Article 172 (1) (e) of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 (CRR), column 040 of template C 101.00 of Annex III to the Draft ITS on Supervisory Benchmarking shall be filled with the rating grade zero (0).
