EBA consults on revised guidelines on remuneration benchmarking and data collection for high earners
The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today consultations on its revised Guidelines on the data collection exercise for high earners and on its Guidelines on the remuneration benchmarking exercise. The updates to these two Guidelines, which had originally been published on 27 July 2012, follow on from changes in reporting requirements as laid down in the Capital Requirements Directive and Regulation (CRDIV and CRR). Both public consultations will run until 07/05/2014.
EBA publishes Guidelines to streamline data collection on remuneration practices
The EBA published today two sets of Guidelines on the data collection exercise regarding high earners and on the remuneration benchmarking exercise. The objective of these Guidelines is to streamline the data collection and increase the consistency and comparability of the information collected by national competent authorities.
CEBS publishes Guidelines on Outsourcing
The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) is publishing today the final set of guidelines on outsourcing of credit institutions' business activities. The aim of the CEBS guidelines is to promote an approriate level of convergence in supervisory approaches to outsourcing. The proposed guidelines are based on current supervisory and market practices and also take into account international and European developments in the field outsourcing.
Consultation paper on the Guidebook on Internal Governance
The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) has published today its draft consultation paper on the Guidebook on Internal Governance (CP 44) aiming at enhancing and consolidating supervisory expectations in order to improve the sound implementation of internal governance arrangements. The consultation is open to all interested parties, including supervised institutions and other market participants.

The EBA today publishes two consultation papers (CP46 and CP47) on guidelines for data collection on bank remuneration practices.
Their publication is a further step towards greater disclosure of remuneration information, first proposed in the second amendment to the CRD (CRD III), which came into force on 1 January 2011.

The proposed Guidelines set out the process, criteria and minimum requirements for assessing the suitability of those persons.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today its guidelines on the assessment of the suitability of members of the management body and key function holders. These Guidelines set out the process, criteria and minimum requirements for assessing the suitability of those persons and are ultimately aimed at ensuring robust governance arrangements and appropriate oversight.
