The EBA extends some consultation deadlines due to website maintenance
On 21 October 2026, CERT-EU, the cybersecurity service for the EU institutions, bodies and agencies, alerted organisations to two critical security flaws in software used to run many websites, including that of the European Banking Authority (EBA). As a precaution, the EBA took its website offline on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 13:00 CEST while the necessary security updates were applied. The website was restored on Thursday 22 October 2026 at 14:00 CEST.
The EBA has detected no breach, and no data has been compromised.
Because the website was unavailable, the EBA is extending the deadlines of the following public consultations so that stakeholders have enough time to submit their responses:
Consultation on methodology for setting fines under MiCA (EBA/CP/2026/02/10)
Responses can be submitted through the relevant consultation pages on the EBA website by 26 October 2026.
The EBA apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused.
