Finland. I represent an accounting office whose (potential) clients have had these issues.
Some private traders and other small businesses have been denied possibility to open a basic bank account for the business.
If a private trader or a company does not have a business bank account for managing the payments of the business, then we are not able to provide accounting services for that client.
In some cases our (potential) clients have told that the explanation given by the bank was that the person (entrepreneur) had earlier some financial problems even if those problems had been settled. In some cases no explanation was given.
Clients facing these problems have understood that they are not welcome in banks. Some of them have tried in all the Finnish banks and all the banks have denied possibility to open a business bank account.
No. If a (potential) client does not have a business bank account, we are not able to provide accounting services. We use electronic accounting system. Payment information is transfered digitally from bank to accounting system. Therefore a business bank account is required. Other ways to handle payments is not an option.
