The EBA has received a notification from the Bankowy Fundusz Gwarancyjny (the Bank Guarantee Fund in Poland) in relation to determination of the unavailability of deposits at Bank Spółdzielczy w Nadarzynie (Cooperative Bank in Nadarzyn).

On October 24, 2016 the Polish Financial Supervision Authority suspended operations and filed for bankruptcy of Bank Spółdzielczy w Nadarzynie (Cooperative Bank in Nadarzyn) – the date of determination of the unavailability of deposits. The bank possessed 5595 depositors with guaranteed deposits amounted to EUR 33.7 million (PLN 145.6 million).

The direct reason for the determination of unavailability of deposits was lack of current liquidity. The deposits reimbursement started on November 2, 2016 (6th working day). From November 2 to December 30, 2016 the bank agent (BZ WBK S.A.) reimbursed deposits to the depositors.

The Bank Guarantee Fund continues the reimbursement process to the date of October 23, 2021.
