The fields within the scope of the three rules deliver values for various transitional adjustments to different types of capital. The three rules(v3684_s,v3693_s,v3695_s ) state that these values must be positive. There may be a problem with the sign, as some of the values referenced per CA1 could be negative. As examples I hereby include: -v3684_s : CA1 - field [730,010] Other transitional adjustments to AT1 Capital ; field [960,010] Other transitional adjustments to T2 Capital -v3693_s : CA5.1 - field [140,060] Deductions; field [180,060] IRB shortfall of provisions to expected losses; Are these rules correct ?(perhaps just the scope of the rules needs adjusting)
Per definitions found in Articles 467-478 and 481 CRR certain fields within the scope of the validation rules contain losses, deductions, and so on, thus could be negative in value.
Validation rules v3693_s, v3684_s, v3692_s and v3695_s of Annex XIV of Regulation (EU) No 680/2014 (ITS on Reporting) were deactivated.
Validation rule v3693_s will be amended with and reactivated with a changed scope.
The scope of rule v3684_s has been amended in COREP v2.3 (applicable as of reporting reference date June 2015) to exclude rows 730, 748, 960 and 978 that may receive also negative values due, for example, to the application of article 472 CRR. This validation rule will be reactivated with the amended scope.
Rules v3692_s and v3695_s are correct and will be reactivated.
