The EBA adopted on 8 December 2011 a Recommendation on the creation and supervisory oversight of temporary capital buffers to restore market confidence. National Supervisory Authorities were asked to require banks to build up additional capital buffers by 30 June 2012.
An overview report on the progress made by the banks involved in the capital exercise will be released by mid-July. The final report will be published in September.
