Temporary agents

Description
Selected candidates can be offered temporary agent contracts of definite duration with possibility of extension. Candidates will be recruited on the condition they have full rights as a citizen; they must have fulfilled any obligations imposed on them by laws concerning military service and meet the character requirements for the performance of the duties; they must be physically fit to perform the duties; and produce evidence of a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the Union and of a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the Union to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties. There is no national quota system in operation. However, the EBA shall ensure geographical and gender balance and compliance with the principle of equal opportunities, in accordance with the principles set out in Article 1d and Article 27 of the Staff Regulations.

The European Banking Authority is seeking suitable candidates for the position of Bank Sector Analyst in the oversight activities of the EBA.
In particular, under the responsibility of the Head of the Risk Analysis Unit, the Bank Sector Analyst will contribute to building an effective theoretical and practical framework for risk assessment and data analysis, particularly the  development of quantitative tools for risk monitoring, early warning systems and stress testing methodologies.

The Policy Expert we are looking for will play an important role in regulatory efforts of the EBA in the area of credit and/or market risk. In particular, under the overall management of the Head of Credit, Market and Operational Policy Unit, the Policy Expert will contribute to development of guidelines and binding technical standards as part of the EU common rulebook in the area of credit and/or market risk.
The Policy Expert will also contribute to the development of the EBA’s policy stances in the EU and other international fora and may represent the EBA externally at a technical level in his/her area of expertise.

Application process

Candidates should send their applications for temporary agent positions electronically respecting the deadline for applications. They must quote the reference number of the selection procedure as well as the position they wish to apply for. For each selection procedure, a full CV in the Europass format must be attached, including motivation letter and the eligibility and selection criteria grid (if required in the vacancy notice). We recommend using the Europass CV template. It is not obligatory to insert a photograph. The CV shall give the exact dates (day/month/year) of obtaining any diploma(s) and exact start and end dates (day/month/year) of any professional experience claimed. In case of part-time professional experience, the number of hours worked per week shall be indicated. Due to the large volume of applications the EBA receives, only candidates who are selected for interview will be contacted at this stage. Interviews will be held in the EBA premises in London. The Office will reimburse travel costs by air in economy class and accommodation. Interviews will be carried out in English.
Deadline for submitting applications is always until 12:00 noon London time of the date stated in the vacancy notice.
